ICEBAR OPENING IN COPENHAGEN
ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL COPENHAGEN to open in the heart of Copenhagen on November 7.

A Piece of Arctic Magic Lands in Copenhagen – Here’s What ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL COPENHAGEN Will Look Like
ICEHOTEL, world-famous for its art suites of ice and snow in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, is opening a permanent ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL COPENHAGEN on Strøget in Copenhagen - where freezing temperatures, creative art and design, and sparkling ice meet the city’s pulse.
An Arctic Experience in the City
On Thursday, 7 November 2025, ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL COPENHAGEN opens its doors – a brand-new meeting place on Strøget, created from 50 tons of crystal-clear natural ice from the Torne River in northern Sweden. Guests will step into a world of Arctic magic, where the city’s energy meets the Arctic stillness – where subzero temperatures meet creative art and design, and drinks are served in glasses made entirely of crystal-clear ice.
Guests are first welcomed into a warm lounge, given a cape and gloves, and then enter the frozen universe of ICEBAR. Here, cocktails and sparkling drinks inspired by local flavors are served in glasses made from Torne River ice, surrounded by glittering ice art and creative design – offering a taste of the Arctic in the heart of the city.
"Now both locals and international visitors can step into a world of Arctic chill, ice and snow art – without leaving Copenhagen. It’s a place to enjoy a drink with friends, meet after work, celebrate something special, or hold a meeting – all with a touch of the Arctic," says Jeppe Kjaergaard, Operations Manager at ICEBAR.
Step Into “Origin” – where Torne River Meets Copenhagen
ICEBAR is designed by the Swedish artist duo Christian Strömqvist and Karl-Johan Ekeroth and is called Origin. The design celebrates water as the source of life and the Torne River – the birthplace of ICEHOTEL and the natural material that forms both ICEHOTEL and ICEBAR.
Each year, a new design is created by selected artists, making every edition of ICEBAR a unique art experience.
“ICEBAR brings the Nordic wilderness and ice art into the city – creating an experience that truly moves people,” says Luca Roncoroni, Creative Director at ICEHOTEL.
